Letting yourself be seen.

I think as creative individuals, we all have a desire to be seen, heard, and understood. To seek that out wholeheartedly can be an entirely different matter. Oftentimes, our tender artist hearts have been misunderstood. It is not often through cruel intentions, just misunderstandings or misalignments that make us bristle and take cover under our protective mechanisms or increasingly thicker skin. Even as we carve out our careers in creative fields, we learn what is acceptable and what is not.

If we are fortunate, we are able to find our niche and align to work or creative expressions that make our inner artist satisfied. But I have found that most of us have an inner yearning that is waiting to be shared or expressed. I have also found that although we may have honed our processes in getting our professional creative work done as part of a team or a contracted individual, it can be so much more difficult to commit to diving in an bringing our individual passion projects to completion.

It is almost as if there is a missing piece or two. Or a fear of being seen and vulnerable. Part of it could be imposter syndrome, but in my work with creative folks, it seems like everything else just comes first before our tender creative ideas. Simplest way to put it is that if we never put it out into the world, it can never be insulted or rejected.

Yet what if that most tender part of our creativity is where our brilliance is hanging out, waiting for us to work up our courage to meet it in partnership?

My artist heart seeks to both create art and to be of service to other creative folks on similar journeys. My greatest gift is to see the truth in what makes another brilliant, and to reflect that back to them through my art and guidance. In my Creative Guidance Sessions, the Energy Portraits are the perfect blend of this.
