Process + Inspiration

I am inspired by flow, emotions, nature, and human beings. My work is an investigation of the impact our surroundings have on our sense of self, be it the soul of the ground we stand on or the communities we engage or feel on the outside of.

The future of my work is the study of nature on our creativity, of how the soil composition of a place impacts the group mind of a community, and the creative spirit of the individuals within it.

Collective Paintings

Collective Paintings are multiple-canvas paintings that tell the big-picture stories of the collective impact on the individual, as well as the individual’s contribution to the collective, whether it be community, family, friend group, or team. The intention of these paintings is to encourage discussion and enable alignment of goals of a group.

Energy Paintings

My acrylic paintings are emotions channeled through my body, expressed through my hands and brushes. Sometimes, it is my own emotions that i am working to understand and evolve. Others, it is the nature of a situation, partnership, or community. At the core, it is meant to capture the depth of experience of the subject- the polarization of the positive and negative, to see the full expression.

Portrait Project

Inspired and initiated by The 100 Day Project, I have been creating self portraits on a somewhat regular basis, with my thoughts of the day surrounding me.

Meet Ms. Anna Lee

An Artist at Heart

Ms. Anna Lee has been seeking a path between art and fashion since she was designing β€œprincess” dresses when she was five.

Inspired wholly by the human form, she studied both disciplines in college, but set the paintbrushes aside when her fashion career began in 2000.

Although she spent years designing and creating hats for Ruby3 as a creative outlet, it was not until 2016 that she started painting again and channelling her artist self. Since then, she has brought her painting into her work, often as textile design, with each Gray Matter Series season she initiates.

As a trained healer and medium, she also channels healing energy into all of her abstract paintings, imbuing them with the complexities of the human/spiritual experience.
