Creative Momentum Thrives on Connection

If you have ever had a creative project burn wildly in your creative heart, only to be lost in the ether the following month, I feel you. If you have a mind full of ideas and no idea where to begin, I see you. If you have ever mapped out your ideas, talked to your trusted collaborators, lined everything up, only to have it dashed by a global pandemic or some other major life event, I hear you.

It can be a challenge to prioritize our creative ideas and projects. When our desire to create can be set aside because we feel no one is really paying attention (including ourselves!), we find our passions waning and we are tempted to not even bother.

Some of us may be very prolific but are having a difficult time focusing in on preparing for a solo show and may not have a network in place that we had in school.

I have long believed that creativity thrives in community. We may create in solitude, but we need inspiration, feedback, and something to bump up against. We need each other.

This Thursday July 13th, I am offering two informational sessions for the new Dark Moon Sparks series. One online at 2pm and one in person at the Arthouse at 6:30pm.

Dark Moon Sparks is the sister to the Bright Moon Salon. It’s about cultivating resources within ourselves and in community, aligned with the moon cycles. The dark moon is the time before the new moon where we assess what is working and what is not, and prepare to make new or adjusted intentions for what we want to create in the next moon cycle. The dark and new moon phases can also be a quieter, lonely time. So connecting with thoughtful and intentional community can really help us tend to those inner sparks that may feel like they are fading.

Dark Moon Sparks sessions will have an online or in-person option. Both will begin in August, just before the New Moon, and will include tools and exercises to support our different motivation styles and will focus on seeing us each through the next six months of goals and accountability.

These informational sessions will be an introduction, and those in attendance will be able to impact the focus and meeting times for the first six months.

Hope to see you soon!
