Creative Communities Begin With the Individual
I have always felt that times when things feel chaotic, that anything is possible. It can be a stressful feeling to not know what will happen next, but if we can shift our perspective to consider that things often feel jumbled before they make sense, it is entirely possible that they only way we will get to where we would like to be creatively will be through a healthy jostling of our realities.
Now, I say this as someone who seeks calm and stability, for the most part. Yet I have watched the story arcs for myself and others over the years and we all seem to find our way, despite it all. With my Creative Guidance Sessions, I specialize in holding space for the individual as they go through a creative expansion. These rites of passage require that we take the steps ourselves. No one can do the work for us. But here’s the secret: we need to be sure we are well-resourced on our journeys. This means taking care of ourselves in the ways most nourishing to us, following the goals that are right for us, and making sure we are connected to those who believe in us.
Although our creative work may often be a solitary experience, we are also meant to create in community. In my work with others as a Creative Guidance Counselor, I have found that there are some foundational elements that we need to fortify our creative process to make sure we are connected and supported in ways that help us create from a deeper sense of self. I recently wrote an article about it for Being Boss if you would like to read more.
If you are going through a creative expansion, it can also feel like a contraction, and I am here for you. For the rest of March, use the code SHARETHELOVE for 20$ off any Creative Guidance Session.
