What I love about the New Moon today.

I love a New Moon. They are possibly more mysterious and emotional than their sister phase, the Full Moon. The new moon holds within it seeds of possibility, untapped potential, an envelopment of self-reflection. I also see the Winter Solstice coming up next week as the New Moon of the year, in a way. It is when we have the least amount of light from the sun or the moon. We benefit from seeking the light within. We become the light for each other while we are waiting for the reemergence of the outward light.

There is a reason that the Dark Moon Sparks accountability groups meet the week ahead of the New Moon, as we are not always set up to take the time to go inward with our busy lives.

But this New Moon has something sweet about it, whether or not you agree with me is up to you! Here’s the deal: Mercury goes into retrograde 6 or 7 hours later. OK, ok. I know. But I love a lil Mercury Retrograde too. I have learned to appreciate the time that is best spent returning to things and reworking them. I thrive on going with the flow, and have learned to trust when things ebb. This does not stop me from shaking my fist at “the universe” when things go awry. But there is grace in there too.

Here is why I kinda love this Sagittarius New Moon. Instead taking the adventurous energy of Sag and the New Moon and barreling forward, we are encouraged to speak our bold dreams quietly but distinctly. Share them with your bestie, and let them ask tons of questions. Be in wonder. The answers to the questions do not need to make sense just yet. Let it be a reveling for the next few weeks. Be in the luxury of your creative dreams and let them swirl around you for a while. No forward action on your manifestations or to-do lists until your cup is overflowing and you are bursting with inspiration. Let. It. Build.
